Some travel photographs capture cultural diversity and cultural conflict - a conflict between two different cultures, rather than a single culture where there is no conflict.
This Asian girl, who was on a British beach, moved away from her parents to smoke her cigarette, almost certainly because she knew they would disapprove of her smoking in public.

For example, if this photograph was of a Spanish girl who was smoking on a beach in Spain, it would be a photograph of a single culture, because it is acceptable for Spanish women in Spain to smoke on the beach, and in public generally.
